An experienced divorce lawyer on your side

Attorney G. Robin Alley provides experienced, compassionate and responsive legal services to people involved in both fault based and non-fault based divorce. We handle separation agreements for no-fault divorce, where the couple must be continuously separated for one year. We also handle fault based divorces that can be granted after 90 days. Fault divorce grounds include habitual drunkenness, physical cruelty or adultery.

The courts require the parties in a divorce action to go through mediation. Mediation provides a relatively amicable and solutions-oriented approach to a divorce. The process generally works quite well. At our office, we can help you address the following legal issues:

  • Child custody: For parents experiencing divorce, issues of child custody and visitation are very important. We can answer your questions regarding physical custody and legal custody. We seek parenting time that works for you and your children.
  • Child support: Child support in South Carolina is determined by statutory guidelines that consider factors such as each parent's income, time spent with the children and special health or education needs for the children.
  • Property division: Property division in South Carolina is based upon an equitable distribution of property requirement. All property acquired during the marriage is considered in the division, including the marital home, real property, vehicles, recreational vehicles, bank accounts and military pension plans.
  • Alimony: Spousal support can be awarded on a temporary or permanent basis. Support is never granted when adultery has occurred.

Other family law issues

Isaacs & Alley LLP also handles family law issues that can arise both before and after a divorce, including:

  • Prenuptial agreements: We draft prenuptial agreements that can help you plan for the unexpected.
  • Post-decree modifications: We represent people who are requesting changes to child support, alimony and child custody arrangements as well as those who are contesting proposed changes.

Isaacs & Alley LLP looks forward to helping you resolve your family law matters. Contact us today to schedule your free initial consultation.
